Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival tickets have gone on sale to the general public online via Showclix.com.
Established in 2005, The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is entering its 7th year as New York City’s largest Hip-Hop cultural event that showcases the positive aspects of Hip-Hop culture by highlighting Hip-Hop’s legacy as an agent of artistic progression, community building and social change.
In addition to musical performances, the Festival offers a number of activities for its audience, including: panel discussions, exhibitions, parties, an award show and a family-friendly block party. The Festival is more than a concert or outdoor fair. It is a family reunion for lovers of this great culture.
In the last six years, the Festival has achieved a number of memorable milestones with an impressive roster of Hip-Hop acts that include Grammy winner (Lupe Fiasco), the front man of Jimmy Kimmel’s late night band (Black Thought of The Roots) and VH1 Hip-Hop Honoree (Big Daddy Kane). In July 2010, the Festival continued its mission of making Hip-Hop history by presenting:
- De La Soul’s first outdoor show in NYC for 9 years.
- Pete Rock/DJ Premier/Large Professor all on one stage for the first time ever in the US.
- Q-Tip & Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey speaking together on J Dilla for the first time ever.
- Pete Rock & CL Smooth reunion for the first time in NYC in 12 years.
- DJ Rob Swift (X-ecutioners) & Rhettmatic (Beat Junkies) together performing on the stage for the first time in 14 years.
