Is a Detroit-born music producer, one half of the Hip-Hop and R&B group Platinum Pied Pipers (PPP) and founder of record label/production company, Bling47. A close friend of Slum Village, he is credited for persuading the group to release their first album/demo, Fan-Tas-Tic (Vol.1), choosing the group name and introducing them to fourth member, Elzhi. An acclaimed producer in his own right, Waajeed has toured the world as a solo DJ and with PPP.

Brooklyn Bodega, producer of the 6th Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (BHF) announces its newest event, "Salute the DJ." Taking place on July 8th as part of the week-long 2010 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, "Salute the DJ" honors this invaluable foundation of Hip-Hop, with a portion of the night's proceeds donated to the estate of the late Grandmaster Roc Raida (the legendary DJ, turntablist, producer and member of the The X-ecutioners).
